Patient Positioning Beds

Weight capacity varies across our bed frame portfolio to address different patient requirements. The Ai1 All-In-One Expandable Low Bed supports up to a 550 lb patient weight capacity with a 600 lb safe working load, suitable for bariatric care. The Descend Ultra-Low Floor Bed accommodates a maximum patient weight of 375 lb with a 395 lb safe working load.

Both bed models feature dedicated articulation to optimize lying posture and reduce shear. The Ai1 All-In-One Low Bed supports a 70-degree head angle, a 35-degree knee angle, and 14-degree Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg positioning. The Descend bed provides a 0 to 70-degree backrest, 0 to 30-degree footrest, and 14-degree Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg functions.

The Ai1 All-In-One Expandable Low Bed features an adjustable platform designed to expand to fit larger individuals without requiring a separate bariatric frame. The frame width expands from 35 inches to 48 inches, while the length extends from 80 inches to 88 inches. This accommodates mattresses ranging from 36 to 48 inches wide and 80 to 88 inches long.

Our patient positioning beds integrate multiple active and passive safety features. The Ai1 bed includes a 3-zone bed exit alarm for earlier fall detection, a nurse call connection, center lock and steer casters, and an integrated scale. The Descend bed lowers to 2.7 inches floor level, features four individually locking castors, and includes a 9V battery back-up.

Clinical bed models are designed with emergency protocols to ensure continuous patient safety. The Ai1 All-In-One Expandable Low Bed includes both electric and manual CPR releases for rapid flattening of the sleep deck during emergencies. The Descend Ultra-Low Floor Bed features a 9V battery back-up that facilitates emergency platform lowering even during unexpected facility power disruptions.

Caregiver efficiency and positioning accuracy are managed via intuitive controls located at key points around the bed. On the Ai1 All-In-One Expandable Low Bed, controls are placed at the footboard and head side rails. These allow staff to operate chair and contour positioning, adjust height, engage scale monitoring, and manage alarms without straining or leaving the bedside.
